Positive Growth Inc. presented The Making a Difference Award to The City of Clarkston, Clarkston First Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter and Masonic Lodge, Chief Judge Haynes, Rebound Program, DeKalb Juvenile Court, and United Way of Greater Atlanta. The Making a Difference Award recognizes and celebrates the efforts of our partners that are committed to improving the community through exemplifying excellence in the community, to reach above and beyond the expected to “Make a Difference” in the lives of children, youth, adults and families during difficult life transitions.

City of Clarkston

The City of Clarkston has partnered with Positive Growth throughout its 20 years of service. The City of Clarkston welcomed Positive Growth, Inc. to its “Small Town Big Heart” granting Positive Growth approval in 1997 to operate as a Child Care Institute. Positive Growth has enjoyed cooperating with the City Commissioners, City Manager, Planning and Development, 5-Mayors, 3-Police Chiefs and a host of city workers. The City has approved and sponsored multiple events with Positive Growth such as: Clean-Up Clarkston Day, Family Fun Day, Road Races for abused and neglected children and youth, Classic Car Show and Positive reinforcement and support from the City of Clarkston Police Department.

Clarkston First Baptist Church

Over the past 15 years Clarkston First Baptist Church has provided spiritual guidance to the administrative staff, biblical studies, holiday gift bags and toiletries to the residents of Positive Growth, Inc.

Eastern Stars Hadassah Chapter #1227 and Masonic Piney and Grove Lodge #585 and Masonic Jedidiah Lodge #763

For more than 15 years The Eastern Star Chapter and Mason Lodge has prepared and served meals for various activities such as: family fun day, fish fry, evening dinners, and our annual Thanksgiving dinner serving more than 2500 residents, friends and/or guardians during this time. They provided holiday hygiene bags and other necessities for the residents.

Chief Judge Linda Hayes DeKalb County Juvenile Court Rebound Program

Positive Growth has collaborated with the DeKalb County Juvenile Court Rebound Program for the past 3 years providing comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment to youth including: community support, individual, group and family counseling. The Rebound Program is designed to help adolescent participants learn to live drug-free and crime-free through early, continuous, and intense judicially supervised treatment, mandatory periodic drug testing, and the use of appropriate sanctions and other rehabilitation services. Chief Judge Linda Hayes has provided leadership to the Rebound Program since its inception in 2004.

United Way of Greater Atlanta

Positive Growth became a United Way community partner in 2002. Positive Growth has partnered with United Way in the focus area of Education – Out of School Time, Emergency Food and Shelter Program, the Federal Combined Campaign, United Way 211, United Way VIP and a Partner for Child Well-Being. United Way support helps Positive Growth provided education support to children and youth in our community and residents of Positive Growth; shelter, food and supportive services to every resident that has resided at PGI and volunteers that have served as board members, completed campus service projects and donated goods and services throughout the past 15 years.
