In 2018, a brand new version of the test will replace the old one, as well as new rules and regulations for such things as time limits, where to take the exam, etc. You can take it to the bank that the 2018 GED is going to be a lot harder to score high on than today’s version. If you’ve been on the fence about taking the GED exam, now’s the time to do it, because if you put it off, you may well find yourself staring down at a much harder test.
Positive Growth, Inc. Certified Literate Community Program (CLCP) in partnership with Georgia Piedmont College and Adult Education offers small-group, self-paced instruction in basic writing, reading and math skills (Adult Basic Education/ABE), as well as additional components in science, social studies and literature for students preparing for the State of Georgia General Education Development (GED) exam. The program is primarily for young adults and adults who have not completed high school. Day and evening sessions are available at our Center. The program is offered through funding from Grants, In-Kind Donation, and Fundraising and is free to participants.
If you are at least 16 years of age, you can enter the program with consent from a parent or guardian. A separate class is held for 16 and 17-year-old students on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Minors must first obtain a Certificate of Consent to Participate form signed by a parent or guardian. 16 to 21-year-old students must also provide a completed Certification of Non-Enrollment in School form from their high school. Both forms are available through our program.
Prospective students are welcome to enroll in the ABE/GED Program once they have made an appointment to take the program enrollment test. This test is called a TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) and is given on selected Tuesday afternoons. The number to call to register for the TABE is (404) 298-9005 ext. 25
Learning needs will vary, depending on each students level of mastery in each of the basic skills areas. Instruction is, therefore, individualized. You set the pace through regular attendance and focus on your curriculum of study as determined by our instructors based upon your entering skill levels.
The General Educational Development (GED) exam is administered each month at the colleges testing center at the Montreal campus. Tests are offered on Saturdays to accommodate participants. Any Georgia resident, 18 years or older who do not have a high school diploma is eligible to take the exam. Individuals who are 16 and 17 years old are only eligible to register to take the GED Exam at the colleges testing center by first enrolling and completing four official GED practice tests in the ABE/GED Study Program. Please contact The Education Center at (404) 298-9005 for an appointment to register for the GED Exam.

If you want the support, the support is definitely here”
Before this program I lacked knowledge, Positive Growth has given me great knowledge. I appreciate so much to be given so great knowledge and time. . . until I get my GED.
In the past, I have been counseled by other therapists. My therapist at Positive Growth Intervention Center is the first counselor who exemplified the type of effective counseling that I needed. They emulated a balance between being professional and personable. The therapist was compassionate and open-minded. They balanced humor with expertise in manner that is easy to receive. Their methods were not only effective but refreshing”. I am so grateful for the opportunity to receive family and individual counseling at Positive Growth Intervention Center. The Therapists are passionate, dedicated and committed to their work in the community. In addition, their willingness to go above and beyond to serve their clients is genuine and greatly appreciated
Thank you for all you did to improve my son’s life while he was at your residential care program. You gave him a place filled with guidance and support to help him work through the things we couldn’t resolve at home. I thanked his judge for sending him to you. I thank God for you all.
The service is good here, the after school even has transportation to bring my child home! My son likes it he says ‘I learn about being healthy and not bullying I can play more.’ We came to America for him to get a better education–he gets that at Positive Growth.
Thank you to the staff at Positive Growth for helping me become the man I am today.”
