Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment (CCFA)

We offer comprehensive child and family assessment utilizing guidelines established by the Georgia Department of Human Services. Assessments are tailored to aid in the development of a comprehensive permanency plan for each child. A dynamic and ongoing process of gathering, analyzing, comparing, and synthesizing the information from various sources to come to an understanding of family strengths and needs relating to child’s safety, permanency and well being.

Wrap around Services

Wraparound service provides individualized, comprehensive, community-based services and supports to children and adolescents with serious emotional and/or behavioral disturbances.

Services include: Family Team Meetings, Parenting Classes, In-Home Intensive Treatment, In-Home Case Management, Crisis Intervention and other services as needed. These services are designed to prevent hospitalization and maintain children in the home and establish healthy and productive home dynamics.

Intensive Family Intervention Services (IFI)

Intensive Family Intervention Services are short-term, family-focused, and community-based services designed to help families cope with significant stresses or problems that interfere with their ability to nurture their children.

The goal of the Intensive Family Intervention Program is to maintain children with their families or to reunify them, whenever it can be done safely. Services are an intensive family intervention treatment program designed for children and adolescents at risk of out of home placement. IFI employs a crisis intervention and skill-based model of treatment that focuses on the whole family. Skills for daily living and family life are provided.

Trauma-Informed Care

Positive Growth, Inc. offers a comprehensive trauma-informed care services model to assist in the reduction of PTSD onset and trauma symptoms in children and adolescents exposed to a traumatic event.

The essential components in a comprehensive trauma-informed care services model for this population include culturally sensitive and trauma-informed assessment, individual, family, psychiatric and group treatment as well as consistent family engagement and access to community resource linkage through Case Management, psycho-education, psychosocial support and training for families, community leaders and stakeholders.

Anger Management Program

Our Anger Management program provides adolescents struggling with anger an opportunity to gain insight into their difficulties while learning skills to appropriately deal with anger. The program encourages adolescents who participate to accept responsibility for their actions and avoid harmful behaviors. We use the Anderson and Anderson Curriculum, which is the leading anger management certification training program in the industry standard and is recognized worldwide.

Licensed Outpatient Adolescent Drug Treatment and Education Program

This program provides services to adolescents experiencing problems directly related to substance abuse. The program is designed to help adolescents recognize that drug dependency is a disease that affects their total functioning as well as their family and social systems.

Medication Evaluations/Management

A face-to-face interaction between the child/family and a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is on staff to evaluate the need for medication, prescribe as necessary, and provide ongoing medication management for children and adolescents in this program. An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and a Registered Nurse (RN) support Medical Services.

Nurse Assessments and Health Services

A face-to-face interaction by a nurse; licensed by the state of Georgia to provide Health/Addiction assessment and monitoring services.

Behavior Health Assessments and Service Plan Development

A formal face-to-face comprehensive clinical assessment is conducted to establish problem identification, clinical diagnosis, or diagnostic impression. An evaluation shall include an interview with the client and family if the child is 18 or under.

Psychological and Psychiatric Evaluations

A face-to-face interaction between the child / adolescent or adult and a Board Certified Psychiatrist or Psychologist to evaluate the emotion, behavior, medical social and intellectual needs of the client.

Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)

TF-CBT, a psychotherapeutic intervention designed to help children, youth, and their parents overcome the negative effects of traumatic life events such as child sexual or physical abuse; traumatic loss of a loved one; domestic, school, or community violence; or exposure to disasters, terrorist attacks, or war trauma.

Crisis Intervention

Through the availability of staff 24 hours a day and seven days per week, consumers are able to obtain help as crises arise. Emergencies may be in the form of psychiatric or substance abuse. Staff will intervene as needed and as appropriate or arrange for intervention through other appropriate sources as the crisis situation requires.

Individual / Group / Family Therapy

A face-to-face therapeutic individual/group and/or family session conducted in accordance with a documented treatment plan focusing on treating his/her predetermined problem.

School-Based Disruption Intervention Counseling Services

This program serves students who are having difficulty in school due to alcohol/drug use, truancy, school disruption, multiple suspensions, aggression, exposed to violence, gang affiliation, depression or other mental health problems.

Community Support Individual (CSI) and Behavioral Assistance (BA)

The goal of CSI is to provide comprehensive support services to consumers in need of crisis intervention, counseling/behavior management, skills training and resources to maintain stability and independence in their daily community living.

Play Theraphy

Specialized service to help children and adolescents cope with difficult life situations and/or negative behaviors.
